Twenty-one year old, Nigerian, Chizoba Amalu built a car in 10 months and calls it Gravity X. This is his 2nd car built from the ground up in which his first car was built with parts sourced from a motorbike. Amalu’s goal is to build quality cars with safety at the core of its design to protect people from accidents. His father, Mathew Ani has some reservations on how far this will take his son. He would like for Amalu to combine his talents with higher education as well as partnering with others who are capable, in order to achieve his dreams and goals. Amalu is also surrounded by engineers such as his uncle, the community and others that continue to encourage, mentor and support him in many ways. Amalu states that he’ll never give up on his dream and will work to refine his craft by continuing to study and elevate his knowledge. He would like to find a training or educational program that specifically focus on his field of interest to enroll in.

Nigeria imports over 1.3 million vehicles in 2019 and locally produces only 14,000 vehicles according to Techpoint, but with a demand of over 720,000. With that being said, the need for education in key technical, science, math and manufacturing fields are needed, along with the support of leadership and the community at large, to ensure generational dreams are being nurtured into reality instead of being delayed. The first step in changing the world is through the mind.
